Bay of Plenty School teachers visit with Instep Priority One

JNP Aviation created and supports our Category One PTE based in the Bay of Plenty, JNP Aviation Training (JNPAT). JNPAT have developed high-quality, practical online materials for ground operations in aviation and offer NZQA-approved qualifications and micro-credentials in leadership and ground operations, flight and aeronautical engineering (new for 2025). In 2024, nearly 50% of our learners were Māori and Pasifika employees, secondary school learners and rangatahi.

One of our most rewarding initiatives have been our Secondary School Gateways/Pathway programmes, which we offer to schools in the Bay of Plenty, and from 2025, in Wanganui and Gisborne. These programmes provide learners with NZQA credits in varied array of fields with in aviation. We believe these School Pathways are unique, and are vital stepping stones for school leavers, leading to employment and further education within the aviation industry.

Priority One is the Western Bay of Plenty region's economic development organisation of which JNP Aviation is a member. Last week Instep Priority One brought around 15 Secondary School staff members to learn about aviation ground operations with JNP Aviation and the Tauranga Airport Fire Rescue Services and see what JNP Aviation Training is offering Bay of Plenty Secondary School students within the major sectors of aviation: Ground operations, flight and aeronautical engineering. The response from Dan Bromley, Priority One’s Vocational Coordinator was awesome:

“Just wanted to send you a quick note to say a huge thank you for yesterday. Our session with you was the highlight of the day. The teachers were all talking about it for the rest of the afternoon”
